摘要: This discussion paper assesses the state of knowledge on tropical dry forests as it relates to CIFOR's strategy and identifies research opportunities that align with strategic goals. Over past two decades, CIFOR has accumulated a substantial body work forests, particular focus African forests. is intended build work, by gathering wider from around world, seeks widen geographic scope its The present assessment explores five themes: climate change mitigation adaptation; food security livelihoods; demand for energy; sustainable management forests; policies institutional support management. These themes emerged priority areas during discussions forest priorities held at Dry Forests Symposium in South Africa 2011. Research these should be considered priority, given importance people ecosystems world threats posed them.
