摘要: The present study aims to improve the hardness and wear resistance of aluminum-silicon alloys using atmospheric plasma-sprayed ZrO2, Al2O3-ZrO2 multilayer Al2O3/ZrO2 composite coatings. fabricated coatings were characterized explore their morphological changes, surface hardness, phase composition, roughness, friction wear. Friction against cast iron determined under dry-sliding conditions at load 15 N in room temperature. micro structural studies revealed changes various on alloys. coating contained equiaxed grains due differences melting points two particles. formation increased alloy from 55 HV0.3 1168 after deposition composite. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed intermetallic phases deposits. Low roughness 2.51 µm was exhibited for ZrO2 deposit compared 3.02 3.90 deposit. achieved better tribological performance than multi-layer Hardened tribofilm reduced rate 9.5 × 10-5 gm-1for 4.53 10-4 gm-1 Al-Si alloy. Though is improved deposit, COF 0.55 other delamination, adhesive, abrasive Grain pull-out mechanism occurred during sliding alloy, had been considerably
