Vacuum ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy in the spectral interval of Lyman‐α of atomic hydrogen and deuterium in an ion source plasma

摘要: Atomic hydrogen and deuterium in the plasma of a magnetic multipole source are investigated with respect to fraction atomic component energy distribution atoms. Information is obtained by analysis wings optically thick Lyman‐α transitions, admixture small amounts other isotope as thermometer gas order warrant transparency center line. The atom molecule density ratio found be around 15%; distributions yields dominant cold (Tcold∼400 K), hot (Thot≳2000 K) which comprises about 20% atoms, but significant amount fast described Tfast energies up several eV; relative these atoms below 1%.
