摘要: Between seizures, irritative network generates frequent brief synchronous activity, which manifests on the EEG as interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs). Recent insights into mechanism of IEDs at microscopic level have demonstrated a high variance in recruitment neuronal populations generating and variability trajectories through propagate across brain. These phenomena represent one major constraints for precise characterization organization utilization during presurgical evaluations. We developed new approach to dissect human neocortical networks quantify their properties. that has modular nature it is composed multiple independent sub-regions, each with specific IED propagation differing extent activity generated. The global determined by long-term circadian fluctuations sub-region spatiotemporal Also, most active co-localizes seizure onset zone 12/14 cases. This study demonstrates principles are conserved macroscopic they determine properties humans. Functional stratification increases diagnostic yield intracranial investigations potential improve outcomes surgical treatment epilepsy.
