摘要: Summary The methanogenic diversity of the human intestinal microbiota has long been viewed as composed two Methanobacteriales: Methanobrevibacter smithii and Methanosphaera stadtmanae. Recently, Mx-01 ,a new phylotype hypothesized to belong a putative sixth order, was recovered from faeces. Here we examined distribution methanogens among healthy people three age groups by analysing mcrA 16S rDNA clones. analysis ~1200 clones revealed that usual Methanobacteriales were present without any significant difference adults elderly (respectively 60% 80% car- riers, n = 40, P 0.3). In addition, four phylotypes grouped with in same monophyletic clade recovered. These signi- ficantly more frequently detected (40%, 20) than (10%, 20, 0.065). parallel, affiliated near or within Thermoplasmatales Altogether, these results indicate an age-related apparition Mx-phylotypes, putatively methano- genic, which are formed several species carrying gene not related five orders. may be cohabit archaeal Thermoplasmatales.
