摘要: Gliclazide is a second generation of hypoglycemic sulfonylurea and acts selectively on pancreatic β cell to control diabetes mellitus. The objective this study was produce controlled release system gliclazide using chitosan beads. Chitosan beads were produced by dispersion technique tripolyphosphate (TPP) as gelating agent. effects process variables including molecular weight, concentration TPP, pH cross-linking time after addition evaluated Taguchi design the rate drug release, mean (MRT), efficiency (RE8%), particle size blood glucose lowering effect studied in normal streptozotocin-diabetic rats. optimized formulation CL2T5P2t10 with about 31% loading, 2.4 h MRT, 69.16% RE8% decreased level rats for 24 h compared pure powder that lasted just 10 h.
