摘要: The term axillary granular parakeratosis is proposed for a unique eruption with distinct histopathologic features. Four middle-aged to elderly patients (three women, one man) had unilateral or bilateral, usually pruritic, hyperpigmented bright red patches in the axillae. Biopsy specimens revealed severe compact stratum corneum measuring 80 250 μm maximal thickness, maintenance of granulosum, remarkable retention keratohyaline granules throughout corneum, and vascular proliferation ectasia. A contact reaction an antiperspirant/deodorant suspected as cause. We speculate that offending agent alters maturation sequence granulosum possibly by interfering degradation filag-grin precursor filaggrin units.
