摘要: This review article summarizes early and recent literature on the structure, distribution composition of gap junctions between astrocytes oligodendrocytes, differential expression glial connexins in adult developing mammalian CNS. In addition to an overview topic, discussion is focused organization homologous junctional interactions oligodendrocytes as well heterologous coupling oligodendrocytes. The homotypic heterotypic nature these related known be produced by cells intact brain spinal cord. Emphasis placed ultrastructural level analysis required attribute junction connexin deployment particular cell types subcellular locations. Our aim provide a firm basis for consideration anticipated rapid advances understanding structural relationships within syncytium. Conclusions date suggest that syncytium more complex than previously appreciated pathways communication may not only determined presence junctions, but also conductance regulation channels.
