摘要: The study was designed to investigate how ammonia and ammonium acetate modification of activated carbon produced from coconut palm kernel shells can influence the physicochemical characteristics, morphology, thermal properties, surface functionalities porous structure the carbon. Surface carbons confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy. Elemental microanalyser Boehm titration method were used determine elemental (C, H, N) analysis functional groups, respectively. Atomic force microscopy employed morphology. Thermal characteristic measured thermogravimetry. pore structures examined nitrogen adsorption measurement SEM. yields 48.7 ± 0.2 44.5 ± 0.1% for shell shell, areas in range 934–1646 m2/g. spectroscopy showed N–H C–N bands, their presence titration. A little widening modified observed SEM images, which could have been caused impregnation process. BET slightly increased as evident size increase weight losses significantly reduced shown TGA curves. There no significant difference between spherical shapes unmodified AFM images. with weakly alkaline group. series thermally stable noticeable area, basic character obtained.
