摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect semi-rapid maxillary expansion (SRME) orthodontic treatment on biomarkers and respiratory parameters in children with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) transverse deficiency. Thirty OSAS were included study. Fifteen enrolled as control, 15 subjected SRME method for 5 months. Beside parameters, pharyngeal area, dental arch, postero-anterior widths levels serum urine measured. Pharyngeal airway space, increased after treatment. Sleep tests showed a decrease apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) 5-month control/treatment duration. Serum kallikrein (KLK)1 decreased significantly group. There significant increase orosomucoid (ORM)2 perlecan control group follow-up. A negative correlation between ORM2, perlecan, gelsolin, KLK1 intercanin width, well ORM2 intermolar observed. can be considered useful approach OSAS. further investigation OSAS-related their relationship is needed providing easier reliable modulatory strategies
