摘要: Vasotocin fibers are known to innervate regions important in the regulation of sexual behavior and neuroendocrine systems quail. In this experiment, vasotocinergic innervation lateral septum sexually dimorphic medial preoptic nucleus was studied during reproductive aging relative or following testosterone (T). There were 4 groups male Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica) studied: adult (6 month, n = 4), photoregressed (n 5), old senescent (36 testosterone-treated 5). Immunocytochemistry for vasotocin (VT) performed on serial sections quantification density VT-positive by image analysis. Results showed a highly significant decrease VT-immunocytochemical staining males; whereas T-treatment males associated with recovery staining, comparable male. Previous experiments have shown that T treatment restimulates similar T-treated castrates. These results indicate VT system may be behavioral observed males.
