摘要: In situ hybridization with a P33-labelled cDNA probe was used to analyze the effects of castration and replacement therapy by testosterone on number neurons expressing vasotocin mRNA in male quail brain. Castration completely eliminated previously described parvocellular cell groups, located medial preoptic nucleus anterior posterior part subdivision bed stria terminalis. These were reversed 3-week treatment exogenous testosterone. No marked change expression could be detected magnocellular groups paraventricular supraoptic nuclei. data indicate that testosterone-induced changes vasotocinergic innervation region terminalis result from controlling mechanisms at pretranslational, presumably transcriptional level. control are therefore very similar those for rat brain despite existence major differences neuroanatomical organization this peptidergic system two species.
