摘要: Integrative studies are needed as the response to mounting environmental challenges. The new discipline – hydropedology has been defined an intertwined branch of soil science and hydrology that encompasses multiscale basis applied research interactive hydrologic processes their properties in unsaturated zone. This review focuses on relationship between structure hydraulic functions at different scales, which is distinct focus makes it a desirable development for its parent disciplines. Status perspectives reviewed revealing relationships soils aggregate/ped scale, horizon/pedon field/hillslope scale watershed/basin scale. Transcending scales can be achieved by acknowledging functioning particular controlled such finer greatly influenced those coarser Addressing societally important applying data fusion, pedotransfer relationships, concurrent use models. Hydropedology emerges logical consequence progress timely society’s needs.
