摘要: AbstractUnderfeeding or caloric restriction have been shown to inhibit the growth of spontaneous, transplanted, chemically induced tumors in rats and mice. At 40% restriction, 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene-induced mammary 1,2-dimethylhydrazine-induced colonic is inhibited significantly even when restricted diet contains twice as much fat control diet. Some inhibitory effects become evident at 10% restriction. In studies involving high diets, we find that receiving 20% ad libitum exhibit higher tumor incidence, multiplicity, weight than ingesting same amount daily, but a containing 25% fewer calories. study intermittent restrictive feedings, tumorigenicity varies inversely with feed efficiency. Exercise has also growth. Sedentary fed 108% incidence ...
