摘要: The extent, regulation and enzymatic basis of RNA editing by cytidine deamination are incompletely understood. Here we show that transcripts hundreds genes undergo site-specific C>U in macrophages during M1 polarization monocytes response to hypoxia interferons. This alters the amino acid sequences for scores proteins, including many involved pathogenesis viral diseases. APOBEC3A, which is known deaminate cytidines single-stranded DNA inhibit viruses retrotransposons, mediates this editing. Amino residues APOBEC3A be required its anti-retrotransposition activities were also found affect activity. Our study demonstrates cellular activity a member APOBEC3 family innate restriction factors expands understanding mammals.
