摘要: Much is known about young children’s use of deictic gestures such as pointing. less their other types communicative gestures, especially iconic or symbolic gestures. In particular, it unknown whether children can create on the spot to inform others. Study 1 provided 27-month-olds with opportunity a novice how perform task. The majority created appropriate and they did so significantly more than in control condition which need someone was removed. 2, some 21-month-olds tested also novel but lesser extent. Results are discussed relation symbolic, linguistic, social–cognitive development.
