摘要: Members of the Culex pipiens complex are primary vectors St. Louis encephalitis virus and West Nile in Mississippi River basin (MRB). The Cx. MRB is composed 4 taxa: p. form pipiens, quinquefasciatus, hybrids between f. molestus. Three studies on bloodmeal hosts with large sample sizes have been conducted members including 1 each quinquefasciatus from Louisiana, pipiens-quinquefasciatus Tennessee, Illinois. top 8 3 sites accounted for 68-92% bloodmeals. Only 14 species at sites. most often utilized within American robin, Northern cardinal, human, raccoon, common grackle, house sparrow, mourning dove, dog, mockingbird, blue jay, opossum, domestic horse, finch European starling. Human feeding varied widely among 1% to 15.7% proportion bloodmeals taken humans an important epidemiological variable future needed define genetic environmental factors that influence host utilization by complex.
