摘要: Objective We sought to evaluate the effects of omega-3 fatty acids supplementation on serum lipid profile and oxidative stress markers in pediatric patients with end-stage renal disease regular hemodialysis (HD). Design This study was a double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled trial conducted 49 HD for at least 6 months. Intervention Patients were randomly divided into either group (n = 25) who received 1-g oral capsule once daily 16 weeks or placebo (n = 24) matching 16 weeks. Main Outcome Measure Lipid including: total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein low-density including following: malondialdehyde, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase measured baseline after supplementation. Results By end study, children showed highly significant reduction cholesterol increase peroxidase levels. Conclusion The administration has beneficial effect undergoing HD.
