摘要: Abstract The geometry of auroral radio echoes detected at Jodrell Bank with low sensitivity equipments (wavelength 4 m) is discussed. It has been found that are only obtained from regions where the line sight within 1° perpendicularity to lines force local magnetic field a height about 110 km, spread in echo not more than 5 km. This conclusion disagreement original interpretation Bullough and Kaiser (1954) who proposed range-azimuth characteristics arose alignment reflecting along geomagnetic latitudes. new result agrees well other observations carried out on wavelength 8 m aurora australis Antarctica New Zealand shorter wavelengths. suggested small differences location echo-regions arise changes distortions during disturbances.
