摘要: Decomposition of CaS particles (18.6 lm size) at ambient conditions was investigated by means potentiometric analysis, TG, SEM-EDX and XRD techniques. The thermodynamics the process also studied. results show that well dispersed are decomposed provoking a high H 2 S release to atmosphere during "rst two days decomposition. This evaluated be in range 61}72 mol% on initial sulphur basis. remaining solid consists 66 calcium carbonate, 22 sulphate 12 elemental sulphur. Trace amounts thiosulphate were detected analysis. formation mechanisms di!erent species discussed. SEM photographs pellets revealed decomposition is di!usion controlled for loads particles.
