摘要: Calcium sulfide is an undesirable product from both FBC and topping cycle gasifiers. Unfortunately, its direct oxidation in a environment made difficult due to the fact that unreacted CaS protected further reaction with O2 by formation of CaSO4 shell. In previous work it was often implied occurred solely O2. However, this study shows CO2 can be effective oxidant for at temperatures above 600 °C. Furthermore, appears principal gas-phase products are SO2 CO, attempts measure COS using mass spectrometry suggest negligible. Somewhat surprisingly, SO2/CO molar ratios range 0.4 0.5, which problematic, if dominant + 3CO2 CaO 3CO SO2, unless reacting form elemental carbon, unlikely, or side reactions occur, leading variety gaseous products. These results also CO itself has no significant part oxidatio...
