摘要: Recent reports suggest that the infectivity of sexually transmitted HIV (i.e., probability transmission on a single sexual contact) may be up to 1,000 times greater during first few months infection than long asymptomatic period precedes development AIDS. Assuming validity this estimate, simple Bernoulli-process model indicates that, in some cases, expected number secondary infections is for brief primary much longer phase. The implications these findings current HIV/AIDS prevention practices are analyzed with particular attention role condom use preventing transmission.
