摘要: The fluorescence decay pattern of the primary donor state 1P* in Rb. sphaeroides R26 as a function quinone (QA) content and excitation (or detection) wavelength has been investigated with 40ps instrumental response function. open question, whether components between 1ns originate from slow charge separation or recombination energetically unrelaxed P+H A - -states (HA denoting bacteriopheophytin) is addressed by comparing QA-containing reaction centers (RCs) QA-depleted ones. removal QA increases lifetime about 100ps to tens nanoseconds. key observation reported this paper that range are not affected lifetime. Thus, these reflect minority ( 10ns) exhibit no shift. So far, all RC preparations show features blue shifted P860-band l00ps time-scale, indicating RCs intrinsically heterogeneous.
