摘要: The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of phagocytosis killed yeast on induction apoptosis in two human solid tumors gastrointestinal (GI): squamous cell carcinomas tongue (SCCA) are (SCC -4 and SCC-9) adenocarcinomas colon (ADENOCA) (Caco-2 DLD-1). Cancer cells were cultured with heat Saccharomyces cerevisiae, baker's brewer's yeast, at ratio cancer = 10:1. percentage tumor that had attached/phagocytosed oxidative burst determined by using sensitive dye (DCFH-DA) flow cytometry. SCC-4 Caco- 2 demonstrated initial high levels peaked (35.8-52.8%) hr. oral SCC-9 DLD-1 low phagocytic activity (7-12%). Phagocytosis not associated burst. Upon underwent maximized 4 Yeast-induced significant (45%), as compared (17%), Caco-2 (76%), DLD (12%). Apoptosis inhibited caspase inhibitor, Z-VAD-FMK; this suggests caspases may be involved GI cancers. This data have clinical implications for treatment tumors. Squamous carcinoma is one most common malignant cavity. Surgical therapy alone, or combination chemotherapy, radiation mainstay SCCA tongue. By year 2000, there 70,000 newly diagnosed patients head neck US. 5-year survival rate approximates 46% annually has dramatically changed last 40 years (2). mortality from occurs, despite improvements advances modalities, diagnosis (3, 4), increased knowledge biological characteristics cancers (5). Cancers rectum (GI) neoplasmas, an incidence approximately 44 per 100,000 (6, 7), second leading cause death among adult Americans. Specific genetic defects been identified which hereditary humans account about 5% all cases. In addition, a number intestinal luminal risk factors described. first-line radical surgical resection, local lymph node dissection. advanced stages disease, palliative chemotherapy limited (8, 9). development search more effective and/or adjuvant therapies treat early now become important subject research. Several reports suggest extracts Scutellaria baicalensis (a traditional Chinese herbal medicine) (10), vegetable, Anastasia Red (11), garlic (12), ginger (13) kiwifruit (14), selectively effectively inhibits growth vitro vivo. phenomenon after certain microorganisms offer alternative way
