摘要: A 15-year retrospective analysis was carried out at the University of Illinois College Medicine, Chicago, reviewing tumor staging and pathology data 239 patients treated for carcinoma larynx hypopharynx requiring laryngectomy alone, with neck dissection, or laryn-gopharyngectomy dissection. Surgery primary treatment modality in 205 cases, remaining 34 having surgery to treat radiation therapy failure. Primary tumors were located within supraglottic region, glottic region and, less commonly, pyriform sinus. Ninety-five either presented developed nodal metastases following initial treatment. Of these, only two had lymph nodes submandibular triangle. This corroborates impressions that rarely metastasize triangle sparing this area during dissection lesions would seem justified.
