摘要: Cities in developing countries are experiencing rapid transformation, one of which is caused by top-down inner city slum renewal. Usually the process happens without real participation residents and focuses only on physical aspects resulting a range sustainability challenges. This study aimed at understanding citizens’ concerns identifying assessment indicators for sustainable urban renewal Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Two purposively selected neighborhoods before (Golla Sefer) after (relocated households due to Lideta Condominium) were examined from bottom-up side. Using multidisciplinary experts literature review, twenty-six identified. The later used assess Condominium using Likert-Scale. Results showed that households’ focused livelihood, affordability, social network, security proximity issues as these factors directly affect their daily lives. Expert’s revealed has brought improvement land value while important economic like job creation poor performance varying percentage. Social such network safety result access transport improvement. Some environmental open space quantity, road walkway mixity improvements governance result. Therefore, future should improve public participation, revise focus home ownership, minimize relocation enhance design. underlines perspective other relevant indicators, sustainably guide Ethiopia Sub-Saharan African cities with similar context.
