摘要: Abstract Growth and antioxidants levels of shoot 10-d-old maize lines (Zea mays L. Hybrid 351 Giza 2) differentially responded to atrazine treatment at the recommended field dose (RFD) during following 20 d. Atrazine significantly reduced fresh dry weights but accumulated H2O2, lipid peroxides carbonyl groups in 2 whole experiment; an effect that prolonged with either elapse time or increasing herbicide dose. Meanwhile, ascorbic acid (AsA) glutathione (GSH) contents were decreased along significant inhibitions activities superoxide dismutase (SOD; EC 1.15.1.1), catalase (CAT; 1.11.1.6), ascorbate peroxidase (APX; 1.11.1.7), guaiacol (GPX; glutathione-S-transferase (GST; 2.5.1.18). Similar responses observed only first 12 d, seemed be overcome thereafter. These findings indicate induced oxidative stress treatments. Such state appeared counterbalanced continued concluding as more susceptible than 351. Therefore, differential susceptibility is related deficiency antioxidant levels.
