摘要: This study investigated the effects of paraquat, a widely used herbicide, on aquatic unicellular alga Chlorella vulgaris through short-term toxicity tests at physiological and gene transcriptional levels. Exposure to 0.5 microM paraquat increased activities antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase levels 4.93, 3.19, 3.09 times higher, respectively, than those control. Furthermore, exposure 0.75 these even higher The decrease in chlorophyll content increases reactive oxygen species (ROS) malondialdehyde following suggest that was severely damaged cell growth greatly inhibited. Real-time PCR showed reduced transcript abundance psaB rbcL 7.09 29.83% control, respectively. Our results demonstrate inhibited electron transport CO2 assimilation, also triggered synthesis ROS disrupt cellular structure inhibit growth.
