In social comparison situations 4-year-old children received more, fewer, or same number rewards as an adult partner (M) who subsequently displayed various neutral behaviors donated to "poor children." Children had more than M showed significantly less imitation did in a control condition. The tendency donate exactly amount given away were affected similarly. It is proposed that showing reduced highly divergent rejected model model. also future studies altruism separate imitated (donating many model) from true model).
