摘要: ABSTRACTThis study is the first to compare economic value of bear viewing and trophy hunting both grizzly (Ursus arctos) black bears americanus) in Great Bear Rainforest (GBR) British Columbia (BC), Canada. We assess trends these two sectors wildlife recreation over several decades analyse their impacts based on 2012 data. examine non-resident with guide outfitters independent local (resident) hunters, as well offered by tourism companies GBR. provide strong evidence that GBR generating far more value: bear-viewing generated 12 times visitor spending than guided resident hunters combined ($15.1 million versus $1.2 million) 11 government revenues ($7.3 $660,5001). Such findings should be useful policy-makers determining allocations public resources priorities for conservation efforts. ...
