摘要: Astrocytes play a pivotal role in the regulation of neurite growth, but intracellular signaling mechanism astrocytes that mediates this remains unclarified. We studied relationship between spontaneous Ca 2+ oscillations and astrocyte-mediated growth. generated signal-deficient which were abolished by chronic inhibition IP 3 signaling. When hippocampal neurons cultured on monolayer astrocytes, growth dendrites axons was inhibited. Time-lapse imaging advancement axonal cones indicated involvement membrane-bound molecules for inhibition. Among six candidate may modulate neuronal N-cadherin downregulated astrocytes. Although blocking antibody to suppressed control extrinsic expression rescued These findings suggest regulate astrocytic function promote maintaining specific growth-enhancing proteins their surface, is one such molecules.
