摘要: IN the course of an investigation specificity acetoacetate which causes electromechanical dissociation1 we found that pyruvate also inhibited contractility rat heart and dog heart, leaving electrical activity intact2. Later perfusion with sodium citrate caused essentially same phenomenon. Although inhibition cardiac contraction by potassium has already been demonstrated Melrose et al.3, it is essential to use in order demonstrate dissociation, as high potassium-levels per se inhibit activity.
