摘要: There are 63 known species of Thecaphora (Glomosporiaceae, Ustilaginomycotina), a third which occur on Asteraceae. These smut fungi produce yellowish-brown to reddish-brown masses spore balls in specific, mostly regenerative, plant organs. A was collected the flower heads Anthemis chia (Anthemideae, Asteraceae) Rhodes Island, Greece, 2015 and 2017, represents first record fungus host this tribe. Based its distinctive morphology, genetic divergence, is described as anthemidis sp. nov. Molecular barcodes ITS region provided for several other Thecaphora. phylogenetic morphological comparison closely related showed that Th. differed from produced loose peduncles unlike flower-infecting species.
