Application of quantum dots in biological imaging

摘要: Quantum dots (QDs) are a group of semiconducting nanomaterials with unique optical and electronic properties. They have distinct advantages over traditional fluorescent organic dyes in chemical biological studies terms tunable emission spectra, signal brightness, photostability, so forth. Currently, themajor type QDs is the heavymetal-containing II-IV, IV-VI, or III-V QDs. Silicon conjugated polymer also been developed order to lower potential toxicity probes for applications. Aqueous solubility common problem all types when they employed researches, such as vitro vivo imaging. To circumvent this problem, ligand exchange coating proven be effective, besides synthesizing aqueous solutions directly. However, another big concern especially studies. Ligand protection core/shell structure can partly solve problem. With rapid development research, new elements morphologies introduced area fabricate more safe efficient
