摘要: We examined an epileptic focus by electroencephalography (EEG) using international 10-20 electrode system in 11 Shetland sheep dogs affected with familial idiopathic epilepsy. also performed evaluation of the amino acids cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and a pathologic examination brains 8 that died from status epilepticus. Continuous demonstrated was initially detected frontal lobe, particularly internal area, paroxysmal foci developed diffusely other lobes recurrent convulsions. The EEG analyses indicated spike sharp wave complexes, which were considered to be discharges. An increased value for glutamate or aspartate found CSF some dogs. Histologically, acute neuronal necrosis astrocytosis distributed predominantly cingulate cortex area cortex, less frequently areas cerebrum. results this study suggest that, initially, have extends gradually Based on distribution astrocytosis, damage may related superexcitation neurons following
