摘要: Data from the Perry Preschool study on 121 African American adolescents were used to explore correlates of self-esteem. Consistent with Harter's (1990) theoretical integration perspectives William James and Charles Cooley, we expected be high in self-esteem if they experienced success areas that important them perceived significant others held regard. Specifically, higher scores for youths who had graduated school, positive experiences moving toward economic self-sufficiency, relationships their families, families approved what doing. The data consistent hypothesis effects teens' accomplishments others' appraisals are additive.
