摘要: Objectives: The seroprevalence of hepatitis E virus (HEV) among high-risk groups overseas is high, but studies in these are rare South Korea. We conducted the present study from April to November 2012 obtain data on and associated risk factors for HEV slaughterhouse workers Methods: Slaughterhouse 80 workplaces nationwide were surveyed Korea 2012. subjects comprised 1848 cases: 1434 slaughter 414 residual products handlers. By visiting slaughterhouses, which mixed with 75 also performed handling, we a questionnaire survey obtained blood samples order determine seropositivity HEV. Anti-HEV IgG IgM measured using enzyme-linked immunospecific assay kits antigen was by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Results: anti-HEV 33.5% (slaughter 32.8% handlers 36.2%), seropositive individuals 0.5% 0.5%, 0.7%). response rate HEV-antigen as RT-PCR 0.2%. Risk significantly related age, sex , working duration only). Conclusions: There significant (sex, duration) identified our study. All three positive cas es pig without statistical significance. To prevent HEV, an educational pro gram guidelines may be needed high groups.
