Improved In Vitro Fertilization Ability of Mouse Sperm Caused by the Addition of Licorice Extract to the Preincubation Medium

摘要: Artificial fertilization is used for the stable production of domestic animals, conservation rare and infertility treatment. However, success rate artificial limited; thus, a more effective approach desired. Cattle workers in Japan often add licorice grass to herbage given their animals before performing insemination an effort increase pregnancy rate. To examine effects on mice, aqueous extract was added culture medium insemination. The results were compared those using glycyrrhizin, major active constituent licorice. improved by extract, but not specifically glycyrrhizin. Thus, flavonoids other than glycyrrhizin may improve fertilization.
