摘要: Data management is a timely and increasingly important topic for ecologists. Recent funder mandates requiring data plans, combined with the deluge that faces scientists, make education about critical any future ecologist. In this study, we surveyed instructors of general ecology courses at 48 major institutions in United States. We chose are likely to train ecologists, therefore, most influence trajectory field. The survey queried institution course characteristics, extent which data-related topics included their courses, barriers teaching these topics, own personal beliefs values associated stewardship. found that, general, not being covered undergraduate wide range reasons. Most often, cited lack time resources as management. Although used instruction some point majority surveyed, good practices thorough understanding importance stewardship taught. offer potential explanations suggestions improvement.
