摘要: The dissociation of sea urchin embryos into a cell suspension and their subse-quent reaggregation provide model system for studying cell-cell interactions during morphogenesis. Herbst (1900) first showed that blastomeres could be dissociated with calcium-free seawater and—when returned to normal seawater—could reaggregate develop abnormal larvae. These ex-periments demonstrated the hyaline layer surrounding embryo holds cells together calcium plays role in adhesion. Giudice Mutolo (1970) used this study appearance new metabolic patterns development. This chapter reports on more recent work from our own other laboratories using reaggregating adhesion It also use intact extracellular matrices junctions external internal surfaces
