摘要: Anorexia nervosa has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric condition and its management is complex multi-faceted, requiring a multidisciplinary team approach. Dietitians are an important part team, offering objective nutritional advice with aim helping patient to develop improved relationship food. Refeeding patients low body weight requires careful management; nonetheless, refeeding low-weight anorexia presents many additional complications, largely psychological nature. Treatment plans need consider psychological, physical, behavioural psycho-social factors relating nervosa. Currently, there no consistent approach paucity evidence support best practice for restoration in this group patients. Tube feeding utilised at varying BMI nervosa, mainly inpatient setting. However, use should be seen as last resort limited life-saving intervention. Weight managed by experienced dietitian within specialist eating disorders using normal foods. This ideal nutrition rehabilitation, promoting skills behaviour providing longer-term solution challenging unhelpful coping strategies from onset. have unique mix knowledge numerous areas including nutrition, physiology, psychology, sociology change, which can applied thoughts behaviours around food, appetite. Further research required into effectiveness dietetic interventions order establish base practice.
