摘要: Managers in the UK's National Health Service (NHS) carry responsibility for achieving government targets on provision of quality care and service to patients. The demands managers achieve these is significant itself, but are often multiplied because having cope with conflicting pressures an organisation that operates a ‘business’ focus, yet essentially caring body service‐oriented at heart. These two areas business not naturally compatible can create tension. Leaders expected bridge ease, little preparation how conflict paradigms create.This paper, detailing authors' work NHS acute trust, provides unique insights into ways dealing tensions challenges leaders experience. authors argue holistic approach leadership required enable this tension be managed effectively, which considers physical, mental spiritual.
