摘要: The Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries that hosted the former Soviet military installations during past 48 years are now facing difficult situation of resolving environmental legacy associated with operation these bases. There thousands contaminated sites at in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic. 171 Hungary alone least 20 designated as high-priority sites. include artillery ranges, training grounds, aboveground underground storage areas tanks, fueling maintenance repair areas. They hydrocarbons, heavy metals, acids, PCBs, PAHs, solvents, ordnance, biological agents numerous other wastes have soil, surface water, groundwater.
