摘要: Changes in GABAB receptor subunit expression have been recently reported the neocortex of epileptic WAG/Rij rats that are genetically prone to experience absence seizures. These alterations may lead hyperexcitability by downregulating function presynaptic receptors neocortical networks as suggested a reduction paired-pulse depression. Here, we tested further this hypothesis analyzing effects induced agonist baclofen (0.1–10 μM) on inhibitory events recorded vitro from slices obtained (>180 day-old) and age-matched, non-epileptic control (NEC) rats. We found higher doses were required depress pharmacologically isolated, stimulus-induced IPSPs generated neurons compared NEC. also similar evidence comparing rate occurrence synchronous GABAergic NEC treated with 4-aminopyridine + glutamatergic antagonists. In conclusion, these data highlight decreased rat neocortex. propose alteration contribute thus
