摘要: The patterns of dispersion and drainage a low viscosity, oil-based contrast medium within the peritoneal cavity were examined in 12 normal dogs. Intraperitoneal injection was cranial or caudal by sump-Penrose open method. Radiographs made over 96 hour period, before after established. Each dog euthanatized necropsied. dispersed throughout 15 to 30 minutes 1 2 hours injection. Most drained 6 24 48 drainage. At necropsy, there complete encasement all drains partial occlusion incisions omentum adhered abdominal wound edges. Peritonitis not grossly evident, but dogs showed histologic evidence an acute inflammatory reaction associated with drain edge.
