摘要: Objective Sleep problems are prevalent among older adults who at risk of developing dementia. Until now, there have been relatively few studies investigating subjective sleep quality in these individuals. The first objective this study was to compare seniors with cognitive impairment no dementia (CIND) and without (non-CIND) on several measures. second verify whether parameters associated CIND differ between men women. Methods The population sample consisted 2287 French-speaking from Quebec (Canada) aged 65 96 years. Participants were classified as or non-CIND the basis their mini mental state examination score using sex, age, education-stratified normative data. All participants completed Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, responses individuals compared. A series confounding variables (age, education, chronic diseases, mood disorders, anxiety use psychotropic drugs) statistically controlled for. Student's t-tests performed characteristics individuals; data male female analyzed separately. Moreover, association each variable measured by odds ratios based logistic regression. Results On whole, analyses revealed significant CIND. difference observed women regarding quality. Conclusions Overall, results suggest that measures do not allow differentiating cognitively impaired those normal cognition. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
