摘要: A colorimetric coupled enzyme assay for the determination of cystathionine β-synthase activity is described. The method exploits γ-lyase as an ancillary capable transforming cystathionine, produced by β-synthase, into cysteine. cysteine then spectrophotometrically detected at 560 nm, after its specific complexation with ninhydrin. This was used to detect in crude extracts, and kinetic characterization partially purified from bovine kidney. rapid two-step protocol described partial purification kidney, aimed a suitable stable preparation.
