摘要: Scavenger receptors constitute a large family of evolutionally conserved protein molecules that are structurally and functionally diverse. Although scavenger were originally identified based on their capacity to scavenge modified lipoproteins, these have been shown recognize bind broad spectrum ligands, including unmodified host-derived or microbial components. As major subset innate pattern recognition receptors, mainly expressed myeloid cells function in wide range biological processes, such as endocytosis, adhesion, lipid transport, antigen presentation, pathogen clearance. In addition playing crucial role maintenance host homeostasis, implicated the pathogenesis number diseases, e.g., atherosclerosis, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders. Emerging evidence has begun reveal receptor important regulators tumor behavior immune responses cancer. This review summarizes our current understanding newly identified, distinct functions cancer biology immunology. The potential diagnostic biomarkers novel targets for therapeutic interventions treat malignancies is also highlighted.
