Frequency and associated factors of hair loss among patients with inflammatory bowel disease

摘要: AIM: To identify the frequency of hair loss among patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and associated clinical related factors. METHODS: We performed a cross sectional study in tertiary referral adult IBD clinic. Self-reported history characteristics as well demographic information were collected. Data analyzed using univariate multivariate analyses. RESULTS: Two hundred ten consecutive recruited; one fifty met predefined inclusion exclusion criteria. Thirty-three percent reported loss. Age, gender, type duration not Hair was less frequently use mesalamine (54% vs 73%, P = 0.03) anti-tumor necrosis factor medications (anti-TNF) (14% 40%, 0.001). In analyses adjusting for disease, these associations anti-TNF remained significant [(adjusted values (OR 0.43, 95%CI: 0.19-0.86) anti-TNFs 0.28, 0.08-0.98)]. CONCLUSION: is common IBD.
