摘要: Eicosanoids represent a family of fatty acid derivatives which possess complex biological effects. The three major groups products are synthesized from arachidonic via distinct enzyme complexes and include prostaglandins, leukotrienes oxidation such as epoxides. While the exact sites synthesis eicosanoids still require to be determined, there is evidence that heart has ability produce both cyclooxygenase lipoxygenase derived products. In mammalian heart, activity third pathway metabolism, cytochrome P450-depen-dent monooxygenases, appears very low. exert myriad actions on cardiovascular system including heart. For example, prostacyclin, produced by primarily in vascular endothelium, generally considered potent vasodilator. On other hand, thromboxane A2, same platelets, exerts coronary constricting precise role etiology disease however, not fully understood. ischemic reperfused myocardium, deleterious beneficial effects prostaglandins proposed, phenomenon may associated with biphasic nature these substances. myocardial ischemia reperfusion also although it likely function compounds provide chemotactic signal for neutrophil recruitment zone. Initial studies eicosatrienoic epoxides (epoxyeicosatrienoic acids; EETs) reveal respect injury well modulation intracellular calcium homeostasis. this review we discuss mechanisms regulation metabolism particularly how alterations production metabolites can affect health disease.
